Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled clinician to join our Alfred Infant Child and Youth Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service. As a Senior Access Clinician, you will be responsible for managing referrals, conducting intake assessments, and providing primary and secondary consultations to children, young people, and their families.

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week) with a salary package of Registered Psychiatric Nurse (Grade 4), Social Worker / Occupational Therapist / Psychologist (Grade 3). You will have access to benefits such as 5 weeks annual leave, salary packaging, and novated leasing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage referrals to the service with a timely, compassionate, and supportive response
  • Conduct intake assessments, including triage and crisis responses, and make decisions about allocation of referrals
  • Provide single-session primary consultations and brief interventions, underpinned by Dialogical Practices
  • Secondary consultations to key external services, building capacity and developing partnerships

Requirements

  • Approved tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and eligibility for membership of AHPRA (or the appropriate professional body)
  • Minimum 5 years' clinical experience

Desirable

  • Developmental Psychiatry Course or equivalent
  • Training and experience in providing child and youth mental health services
