About the Role

This is a key strategic position within the GFG-Alliance maintenance team, reporting directly to the Maintenance Superintendent. The successful candidate will focus on achieving sustainable continuous improvement of asset reliability through efforts to convert reactive repairs into proactive work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reliability Analysis: Conduct thorough assessments to identify asset performance gaps or opportunities for improvement through the application of Reliability Centred Maintenance principles.
  • Capital Replacement Strategy: Evaluate the need for equipment capital replacement plans, major overhauls, or other initiatives to complement the overall improvement strategy.
  • Condition Monitoring and Lubrication: Improve the condition monitoring and lubrication program to optimize asset performance.
  • Training and Development: Facilitate training sessions for maintenance and operations personnel to enhance their understanding of their role in asset reliability.
  • Root Cause Analysis: As custodian of the Root Cause Analysis program, investigate equipment failures to determine the root cause and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze equipment failures, downtime, and maintenance activities, devising strategies for continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • High Safety Standards: Demonstrate a strong commitment to high safety standards as a core value and an understanding of legislative safety requirements.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Reliability Centred Maintenance: Possess skills in root cause analysis and a good understanding of Reliability Centred Maintenance.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Exhibit solid interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Time Management and Organization: Demonstrate excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Tech-Savviness: Be tech-savvy with good computer skills.
  • SAP and CMMS: Possess a good working knowledge of SAP and previous exposure to some form of computer-based maintenance management system (CMMS).
