Research Opportunity in Organometallic Chemistry

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to contribute towards research as part of an ARC-funded Discovery Project.

  • The project focuses on synthesising and characterising novel organic and organometallic molecular wires.
  • You will conduct research in the areas of organometallic and organic chemistry, and molecular electronics.
  • Key responsibilities include performing and supervising chemical syntheses, including using air-free techniques such as glovebox and Schlenk line.

Responsibilities also include characterising the products of synthesis and studying their properties.

To be successful, you will have a PhD or equivalent in inorganic or organic chemistry, with specific expertise and experience in organometallic chemistry and air-free synthesis.

Qualifications and Skills

Required qualifications include a PhD in inorganic or organic chemistry, with a focus on organometallic chemistry and air-free synthesis.

Prior experience in chemical synthesis and characterisation is essential, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of organometallic chemistry and its applications.
