Job Overview:

The Welfare Support Coordinator is a pivotal role that strengthens the capacity of labour sending unit (LSU) welfare staff to deliver wellbeing initiatives for workers, families, and communities.

This position plays a key coordination role in implementing activities that promote the wellbeing of labour sending countries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Capacity Building: Coordinate and implement activities that enhance the capacity of LSU welfare teams to provide effective case management and support services.
  • Community Engagement: Facilitate opportunities for continued professional development and knowledge exchange among LSU welfare teams to promote peer learning and continuous improvement.
  • Case Management: Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) and case management tools to ensure effective referral processes and service delivery.
  • Coordination: Support LSU teams in adopting and applying SOPs and referral processes, providing guidance and resources to embed these practices into their daily work.
  • Partnership Building: Collaborate with other teams to integrate welfare considerations into broader program activities and build strategic partnerships with external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant work experience in social work, human services, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in case management; background in migrant settlement or family support services is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of case management frameworks and referral pathways; experience working with Pacific and Timorese communities; understanding of GEDSI concepts and issues.
  • Strong professional judgement with risk assessment and intervention planning skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills and ability to work across teams and with external stakeholders.
  • Highly developed organisational skills, ability to balance multiple tasks, and work under pressure.
