About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Crew Leader to join our Landscape & Playspace team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering proactive and reactive maintenance of Council's open space assets within the municipality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a range of landscape assets using sound horticultural skills and knowledge.
  • Operate and perform minor maintenance on horticultural and landscape plant and equipment.
  • Ensure playgrounds are safe and well-maintained through regular inspections and repairs.
  • Work collaboratively with team members, stakeholders, and contractors to achieve team goals.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational obligations under the OHS Act and relevant Council policies and procedures.
  • Perform minor landscaping and restoration tasks as required.
  • Contribute to the development of the team through leadership and mentorship.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong background in horticulture, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will also have:

  • A minimum Certificate III in Horticulture (Landscaping/Construction) or equivalent with demonstrated experience.
  • Experience in a mix of hard and soft landscape maintenance and equipment operation.
  • A commitment to occupational health and safety and quality control processes.
  • A current manual Victorian driver's license.
  • A medium rigid truck license or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
  • A skid steer loader license or willingness to obtain within the first 3 months of employment.
  • Traffic management accreditation and demonstrated experience.
  • Basic carpentry trade skills.
