Job Description

The role of Application Developer involves being a key contributor in designing, developing and supporting business-critical applications. As an integral member of the ICT division, you will work across the full application lifecycle – from systems analysis and solution design to coding, testing, deployment and support.

">Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design, develop and enhance .NET-based applications
  • Systems Analysis: Perform high-level systems analysis and integration tasks
  • User Engagement: Engage with users to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions
  • Application Support: Maintain and support existing applications across their lifecycle
  • Testing and Deployment: Lead or participate in testing, deployment and documentation processes
  • Vendor Liaison: Liaise with vendors to resolve technical issues
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices and support processes
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance to junior team members
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Strong experience in .NET development (C#, ASP.NET MVC/Web API, .NET Core)
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Angular/React)
  • Proficiency in SQL Server and RESTful API development
  • Experience with Visual Studio, Git and Azure DevOps
  • Solid knowledge of software development methodologies including Agile, DevOps and SDLC
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in justice, policing or government IT projects
  • Exposure to Azure services (App Services, Key Vault, Azure Functions)
  • Relevant qualifications in Computer Science, IT or Engineering
