Job Description

The role of Software Asset Manager is to drive a business partner-centric operational model, ensuring software and hardware assets are managed efficiently, compliantly, and with maximum value for the organisation.

  • Partner with Service Owners to track, facilitate, and optimise software and hardware contract renewals.
  • Advise on solutions to meet business requirements while ensuring procurement of only approved products.
  • Validate asset usage, meet financial requirements, and monitor lifecycle stages including End-of-Life, version management, and fleet size.
  • Work with technology teams to design and execute transition strategies for assets and contractual arrangements.
  • Identify licensing risks, non-compliance, and mitigation strategies through strong control mechanisms.
  • Ensure all standards, processes, and reporting meet internal and external regulatory requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications

This role requires proven experience in software asset management, including direct dealings with software vendors. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and consultative skills are essential, as well as expertise in software and hardware asset management principles. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills are also required, with the ability to build relationships across all levels.
