Job Title: Plant Operations Supervisor

Overview:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the maintenance team to ensure efficient plant operations with minimal downtime and production disruptions.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance to maintenance staff to enhance their performance.
  • Ensure all equipment complies with Australian standards and work adheres to relevant legislation.
  • Collaborate with the safety committee and engineering department to develop, implement, and enforce effective safety procedures.
  • Establish and maintain a proactive maintenance system to minimize downtime and optimize production output.
  • Work closely with the Plant Manager and team to manage maintenance resources effectively.
  • Plan and coordinate major maintenance activities to minimize downtime and improve changeover times.
  • Identify and address areas of concern that may lead to downtime and implement corrective measures.
  • Ensure all planned maintenance is completed within agreed-upon timeframes.
  • Guarantee daily maintenance meets company quality standards.
  • Liaise with the Maintenance Planner to ensure equipment has adequate spares for optimal performance.
  • Assist in conducting internal audits as required.
  • Contribute to training and upskilling maintenance staff through external courses and on-the-job training.
Requirements:
  • Proven leadership experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Familiarity with Maintenance Management Systems (such as MaintainX).
  • Engineering degree or trade certification.
  • A Class Electrician License.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Ability to interpret schematic drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in operating machinery according to standard operating procedures.
  • Effective at prioritizing tasks and responding to unexpected breakdowns.
  • Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
  • Responsible for routine machine cleaning and housekeeping.
