Mechanical Fitter Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team in a challenging role that involves carrying out repairs and maintenance on fixed plant equipment predominantly on customer sites throughout Western Australia and the Perth based workshop. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to develop strong relationships with key customers, manage all onsite installations, repairs, maintenance, and tasks as per scope of work provided.

The ideal candidate will have a high regard for safety at all times, a trade qualification in Fitting/Machining - Certificate 3 or above, previous onsite fitting experience with a high attention to detail, ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well as interpret technical drawings, experience with Warman pumps etc highly regarded, ability to follow directions and work well within a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all onsite installations, repairs, maintenance, and tasks as per scope of work provided.
  • Recommend improvements to the Site Service Supervisor for customers' equipment that will reduce their Total Cost of Ownership (TOC).
  • Develop strong relationships with key customers to ensure expectations are being met and remedial action to address issues.
  • Show flexibility under urgent or breakdown conditions to service customer requirements.
  • Liaise with the Site Service Supervisor to ensure that all installations, rebuilds, and commissioning activities are being undertaken in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A trade qualification in Fitting/Machining - Certificate 3 or above.
  • Previous onsite fitting experience with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well as interpret technical drawings.
  • Experience with Warman pumps etc highly regarded.
  • Ability to follow directions and work well within a team environment.

Working Conditions:

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent travel to customer sites throughout Western Australia and the Perth based workshop. You will need to be flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances.
