As a key member of our People, Safety, Sustainability & Risk function, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of people strategies that enable day-to-day operations. You will work closely with leaders to apply best practice lenses to performance management, employee relations, engagement, and development.
This role sits within the broader People team and primarily supports the Assets & Maintenance and Network Strategy & Development portfolios. While portfolio alignment may adapt over time, your focus will remain on fostering collaboration, enabling shared learning, and maintaining balanced workloads across the team.
Responsibilities- Support the Lead Business Partner and managers in identifying workforce needs, addressing talent gaps, and planning for succession.
- Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations, ensuring legal compliance and a positive work environment.
- Guide leaders on performance management, including reviews, coaching, and feedback.
- Provide support during organisational changes to keep employees engaged and aligned with new objectives.
- Analyse People team data to offer insights on workforce effectiveness, engagement, and development needs.
- Drive and support organisational policies and programs, championing change and continuous improvement.
- Work in a large, fast-paced and multi-faceted organisation across CBD and Regional locations.
Our ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of effective collaboration across teams and functions to drive outcomes. They will have high level initiative and a consistent commitment to producing high-quality work, especially under time pressure and with conflicting priorities.
Strategic thinking and excellent problem-solving skills are also essential, as is a commitment to continuous improvement and experience in supporting the implementation of change initiatives within an organisation.
