Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Consumer and Community Engagement team at the Women's and Children's Hospital in North Adelaide.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support a team of dedicated volunteers, providing hands-on training and fostering a positive, inclusive, and service-focused team culture.
  • Coordinate all aspects of day-to-day operations across two volunteer-run hospital shops, including food preparation, coffee service, cleaning, and point-of-sale activities.
  • Maintain high standards in hygiene, food handling, and service presentation, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ensure a warm and responsive customer experience while addressing issues professionally and efficiently to support a high-quality service environment.
  • Collaborate with management and other stakeholders to improve systems, implement safe practices, and support fundraising efforts that directly benefit the Women's and Children's Hospital.
About You:
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage task allocation, and provide clear instructions and on-the-job training.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in espresso coffee making, food preparation, and quality control within a fast-paced retail or hospitality setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to support a diverse volunteer team.
  • Sound understanding of food safety legislation and standards, with relevant food safety training.
  • Excellent time management, rostering, and problem-solving skills to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Competent in basic computer use and point-of-sale systems relevant to a retail food environment.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety policies, and volunteer/staff management principles.
