Responsibilities:

  1. Develop standards, advise on maintenance, and ensure compliance for automation, control, and safety systems.
  2. Act as the primary contact for automation and control systems related to ventilation and air quality monitoring.
  3. Collaborate with OT/IT teams to integrate control systems and guide network design.
  4. Oversee automation and safety projects, managing timelines, resources, and stakeholders.
  5. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  6. Ensure all systems meet relevant safety standards and regulations.
  7. Lead safety audits and implement improvements to maintain a safe working environment.
  8. Provide regular reports on system performance, air quality, and project progress to senior management.
  9. Stay updated on new technologies and trends in fixed plant control systems, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost savings.

Requirements:

  1. Extensive experience with underground mine fixed plant control and instrumentation.
  2. Expertise in safety systems, including air quality monitoring, ventilation control, and personnel tracking.
  3. Strong knowledge of PLC/SCADA systems and control philosophies.
  4. Familiarity with OT infrastructure and network design.
  5. Proven project management experience in automation and safety systems.
  6. Thorough understanding of industry best practices and regulatory compliance in underground mining.
  7. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to conduct risk assessments and manage stakeholders.
  8. Ability to stay informed on emerging technologies and implement innovative solutions for safety and efficiency.
