Job Description:As a Medical Care Specialist, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients with acute medical and stroke-related conditions. Your duties will include monitoring and managing patients' vital signs, neurological status, and overall health. You will also administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and in accordance with clinical guidelines.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists to deliver holistic care.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records, including care plans and observation charts.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and deteriorations, initiating appropriate interventions.
To be successful in this role, you will need a solid understanding of acute medical conditions and stroke care management. Strong collaboration with all members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care is essential. Strong clinical assessment skills to accurately monitor patient conditions and identify signs of deterioration in an acute care setting are also required.
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
