**Family Violence Counsellor Role Overview:**

This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment promoting accountability and empathy among individuals who have used violence in their intimate relationships.

As a Family Violence Counsellor, you will lead online group counselling sessions, facilitate intake and assessment sessions, and work alongside experienced professionals trained in behaviour change, family violence intervention, and trauma-informed practices.

The successful applicant must hold a current Working with Children Check and be prepared for a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement. A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or Family Violence is essential, while Level 6 roles require experience facilitating group work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate online group counselling sessions of approximately 10 participants in 90-minute sessions
  • Lead intake and assessment sessions to support the delivery of the Pathways to Change program
  • Work collaboratively with experienced professionals to achieve programme objectives

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or Family Violence
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Preparedness for a National Criminal History Check
  • Experience facilitating group work (Level 6 roles only)
