School Counselor

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate School Counselor to join our team at Mercedes College in Perth, Western Australia.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the overall well-being and educational performance of students at our College. This is a part-time (0.53 FTE), temporary position available for three days per week during term time only.

The School Counselor will be responsible for providing counseling and consultation on various issues, including social, emotional, and mental health concerns. They will develop and implement preventative programs to promote student resilience and well-being, facilitating skill-development workshops for students and staff to enhance coping strategies and emotional health.

As a member of the Pastoral Council, the School Counselor will collaborate with the Deputy Principal of Pastoral Care, Heads of Years, teachers, and parents to manage and support students with emotional and behavioural challenges to create an inclusive environment.

• A current National Police History Check as issued by the Department of Education Western Australia;
• A Working with Children Check;
• Licensure to work in Australia.

This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students at Mercedes College. In return, we offer a competitive salary package, which includes a salary range of $80,000 - $100,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
