The University of Western Australia seeks an experienced professional to fill the position of Counselor for Student Career Development. This is a full-time opportunity that requires strong skills in career counseling, training program development, and organizational management.


About the Role


As a Counselor for Student Career Development, you will be responsible for providing career guidance and support to students and recent graduates. Your primary duties will include developing and coordinating projects to enhance student employability, collaborating with schools within the university to promote employability-related activities, and fostering engagement with employers in the community.


Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and deliver training programs, workshops, and resources to support student career development.
  • Collaborate with university schools to design and implement employability initiatives.
  • Maintain relationships with local employers to secure internship and job opportunities for students.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement in student career outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in career counseling and education.

Requirements


To be successful in this role, you must have:



  • A tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Substantial experience in career counseling, training program development, and organizational management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong oral presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
