Senior Legal Advisor

The role of Senior Legal Officer provides high-level, independent, and timely legal advice and consultancy services for senior officials. This involves instructing Crown Law on complex matters including commercial law, contracts, property law, leases, grants, employment law, human rights, and civil litigation.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver strategic and expert advice to senior officials on legal, policy, and process issues of a complex nature.
- Coordinate and represent departmental submissions to Courts and Tribunals, developing systems to support interactions with Courts and Tribunals.
- Consult and liaise with service delivery officers, Crown Law, and other departments to ensure beneficial outcomes.
- Research and prepare complex recommendations, advice, and submissions on business development, performance improvement, and legal issues associated with corporate governance.
- Support the General Counsel in developing efficient policies and procedures, managing legal expenses, and monitoring external providers.
- Contribute to research, make recommendations on contemporary and emerging legal issues, participate in fostering a team environment, and support change in processes and systems.
