Overview of Role:
As the GIP, you will serve as the central point of contact assigned across the up-and-coming team supporting Asia Pacific and Europe, Middle East, and Africa (including other locations as needed).
You will provide client-focused immigration support, overseeing the entire immigration life cycle, including administrative tasks required for compliance. You will liaise and build relationships with new hires, current employee transfers, recruiters, hiring managers, HR Business Partners, Block’s designated immigration counsel, mobility, and the internal employment law team.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the immigration process for new hires and current employees across multiple teams globally and provide support to employees throughout their immigration journey, working across different time zones as required.
Coordinate mandatory local recruitment efforts through government recruitment systems, including obtaining necessary authorizations and setting up accounts with company directors.
Assist the Immigration Lead with various tasks, such as managing designated immigration counsel, maintaining internal Wiki, maintaining process workflows, compiling program metrics, and business travel support.
Review invoices with data analytics team and legal operations team for immigration-related services.
Ensure immigration data is maintained and that compliance records have an appropriate level of data security.
Partner with mobility on relocation and tax matters.
Provide immigration integration and ongoing support on an ad-hoc basis for new matters resulting from mergers and acquisitions.
Provide administrative and compliance support for global expansion initiatives and other projects as assigned.
Requirements:
Up to 4+ years of experience working in a similar role with a Corporate immigration program required.
Good familiarity with Global Immigration (non-US specific) and strong understanding of immigration laws and regulations.
Specific knowledge of Australian immigration would be highly preferred.
Experience with research, assessing, and determining the impact to the business.
Knowledgeable with Workday, Google Suite/MS Office or Equus Software would be a plus.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including HR, Legal, and Mobility
- Develop and maintain comprehensive immigration processes and procedures
- Analyze and resolve complex immigration issues
- Stay up-to-date with changing immigration laws and regulations
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks associated with immigration
