In-Home Support Specialist

Ability Plus Disability Services is a forward-thinking organization that prioritizes participant-centered supports, focusing on progress toward individual goals.

We are seeking dedicated professionals who can build strong rapport with individuals with disabilities, possess higher care personal care and manual handling experience, live locally, and have flexibility in their schedule. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as well as having a reliable vehicle.

About the Role: Our clients require support staff to assist them in their homes and within the community when needed. More detailed information about individual programs is available.

Responsibilities include:

  • Personal Care (showering, dressing, bowel care, and toileting) and Manual Handling (hoisting, etc.)
  • Physical Therapy/Hydro support
  • Domestic Services and Meal Assistance
  • Community Access

About You: You will be passionate about delivering high-quality care, be reliable and flexible, and possess an empathetic nature and desire to engage with others.

Mandatory requirements:

  • A current National Disability Insurance Scheme Worker Screening Check
  • A current First Aid certificate valid for three years and CPR valid for 12 months
  • A current Working with Children's Check
  • Related qualifications, such as a Certificate in Disability, Aged Care, and/or Home and Community Care
  • A current Australian Driver's Licence and own reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance for Community Access
  • Evidence of eligibility to work in Australia
