Senior Leader

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled leader to take on the role of General Manager.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in managing complex change initiatives, leading high-performing teams and delivering strategic outcomes. You will be responsible for driving the Council's vision and goals, while maintaining strong relationships with Councillors, community groups and stakeholders.

You'll bring a deep understanding of local government legislation and governance principles, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Your ability to engage respectfully with Councillors, community members and partners will be essential in building trust and fostering collaborative relationships.

As General Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Leading the Council's executive team and providing strategic direction
• Developing and implementing policies and procedures
• Maintaining strong relationships with Councillors, community groups and stakeholders
• Managing budgets and resources effectively
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Tertiary qualifications in business, management or leadership, or equivalent relevant experience
• A strong track record of executive leadership, including responsibility for staff, budgets and operational outcomes
• In-depth knowledge of local government legislation, governance and service delivery
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
