About This Opportunity

As a dedicated Personal Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing client-focused care in line with each individual's personalized care plan. You will assist clients with daily living activities and ensure their comfort in their own homes.

  • Deliver holistic personal care and support with daily activities, following the Client Care Plan.
  • Collaborate closely with Registered Nurses to deliver client-specific care, including personal hygiene, toileting, nutrition, mobility, and more.
  • Identify client care needs and work collaboratively with the client's care team to ensure high-quality, comprehensive care.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and team members.
  • Support clients with light housekeeping duties to promote independence, including laundry, cleaning, and meal preparation.
  • Maintain accurate daily client records and promptly report any concerns to the RN/Care Manager.
  • Assist clients with mobility aids, range-of-motion exercises, and non-sterile dressings, under the supervision of an RN.

Requirements
  • Certification in Aged Care or Disability (or equivalent).
  • Current Senior First Aid [HLTAID011], CPR [HLTAID009] and Manual Handling [HLTWHS005] certifications (with 3+ months until expiry).
  • A roadworthy and insured vehicle with a current driver's license.
  • Federal Police Clearance (within the last 6 months).
  • Ability to travel and flexibility with shifts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with empathy for elderly clients.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards for home care.
  • Commitment to safety, infection control, and emergency procedures.
Preferred Skills
  • Understanding of person-centred care.
  • Multilingual abilities are beneficial
