Job Title: Senior Physiotherapist

The Emergency Department at Toowoomba Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Physiotherapist to join our dynamic team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. As a Senior Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and guiding patients through acute presentations, applying advanced clinical judgment to assess and treat patients, managing a broad caseload, consulting on musculoskeletal injuries, coordinating with nursing and medical staff, refining protocols for rapid intervention, contributing to service planning, mentoring junior staff, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, treat, and guide patients through acute presentations
  • Apply advanced clinical judgment to assess and treat patients
  • Manage a diverse caseload of patients with varied needs
  • Consult on musculoskeletal injuries and collaborate with healthcare professionals
  • Refine protocols for efficient interventions and contribute to service development
  • Mentor junior staff and participate in quality improvement projects

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • Registration as a Physiotherapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced emergency department setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
