Student Support Specialist

The Student Support Specialist plays a pivotal role in promoting the overall well-being of students by providing comprehensive care services and fostering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

Collaborating closely with school administrators and staff, the Student Support Specialist develops and implements targeted wellbeing strategies, accompanies students on educational excursions, and coordinates activities that strengthen connections between students and their communities.

They also engage with families through workshops and meetings, contributing to a holistic approach to student care. This position is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of social and emotional development in children, a passion for supporting young people, and the ability to respond with empathy and creativity to diverse needs.

  • Supports the holistic development of students under their care
  • Provides pastoral care services and fosters a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
  • Develops and implements wellbeing strategies and accompanies students on educational excursions
  • Coordinates community-building activities that strengthen connections between students and their families

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Completed Certificate IV Youth Work; or Completed Certificate IV Pastoral Care; or Diploma or Bachelor in relevant field;
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
