About the Job

We are seeking an Experienced Commissioning Engineer for Secondary Systems to join our Assets Engineering Secondary Systems team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for co-ordinating, controlling, and supervising the testing and commissioning of new and refurbished assets while conducting audits of all asset's routine maintenance undertaken by ElectraNet's maintenance service provider.

Key Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering with approximately 5 to 8 years' experience in secondary systems and commissioning.
  • Sound knowledge of operating HV and secondary test equipment.
  • Knowledge and skills across control system programming, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance (programmable logic controllers, remote terminal units, HMI's, distributed control systems, SCADA/telemetry and networking protocols).
  • Familiar with power system control, primary assets, telecommunication and substation infrastructure.
  • Understanding and knowledge of protection and control system LANs for substation communication such as the IEC 61850 substation network communication standards.
  • Experience in field testing, commissioning and corrective maintenance of control systems, including complex control systems on large rotating plants and instrumentation.
  • Able to operate vendor-specific software tools for modern substation automation and protection equipment.
  • Good understanding of legislated industry requirements (Work Health and Safety regulations, National Electricity Rules, ESCOSA, OTR, AEMO Guidelines).
