Aboriginal Health Worker Opportunity

This role offers a vital chance to contribute to culturally safe and supportive care for women and families throughout the antenatal and postnatal journey.

About the Role

In this full-time position based at the maternity unit, you will work alongside a registered midwife and within a multidisciplinary team to foster trust, strengthen connections, and support efforts to close the gap in health outcomes.

  • Coordinate appointments with the midwife
  • Offer cultural support
  • Participate in community events
  • Join home visits with the midwife to provide care during the antenatal and postnatal period

You will be well-supported by a registered midwife, your line manager, and the health services manager. You will receive a thorough orientation program, along with access to mandatory training through My Health Learning and additional face-to-face education to meet your professional development needs.

About You

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated applicant with strong communication skills, basic computer skills, and a current driver's licence. You will be confident engaging with the community and able to provide a vital cultural bridge between women, families, and health services.
