Trusted Youth Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our care team as a Therapeutic Youth Worker. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people in out-of-home care.
About the RoleAs a valued member of our care team, you will play a crucial role in assisting children and young people to achieve their full potential and reach developmental milestones. Your responsibilities will include:
- Meeting the daily care needs of children and young people, including personal hygiene, health and well-being, medical support, transportation, recreational and educational assistance.
- Contributing to maintaining a safe, clean, and personalised living environment that fosters growth and development.
- Accurately documenting events and developments related to day-to-day care provision.
- Ensuring NDIS plans are accessible for children and young people while in our care.
- Utilising trauma-informed practices and supports in daily care provision.
- Providing positive behaviour support, therapeutic interventions, and safety for children and young people who may experience escalation or crisis.
- Facilitating opportunities for social engagement, recreation, and community involvement.
- Collaborating with the care team to develop and implement individualised support plans.
- Advocating for the rights and needs of children and young people.
We are looking for individuals who have a passion for helping children and young people heal and grow through understanding and support. Experience in offering support to individuals with disabilities and complex support needs is essential.
You will understand the importance of trauma-informed care, consistency, and stability in the lives of children and young people. Adaptability and a commitment to meticulous documentation and reporting are also required.
A valid driver's license, current paid working with children check, national police check, and suitable minimum qualification are essential qualifications.
What We OfferWe offer a competitive hourly rate based on the SCHADS Award 2.1 – 2.2. Salary packaging options are available, including $15,900 general benefits and $2,650 entertainment benefits. Paid face-to-face and online training opportunities are also provided, along with dynamic clinical and practice support teams.
We provide free confidential counselling support and regular supervision, reflective practice, and teamwork planning. A rotating roster that includes mornings, afternoons, weekends, and overnights is required.
