Job Title: Head of Learning Area - Science

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced educational leader to join our Secondary leadership team as the Head of Learning Area - Science. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading and managing the effective operation of the designated Learning Area of Science at the Secondary Campus.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Ensuring the delivery of a Christ-centred, developmentally appropriate Science curriculum from Years 7–12, grounded in a Reformed worldview.
  • Overseeing the College's curriculum design and implementation across all Science subject areas, ensuring alignment with the curriculum framework and the College's mission.
  • Fostering a consistent and coherent set of learning experiences that promote skill development, integration across disciplines and the use of diverse teaching and learning strategies.
  • Supervising and supporting teachers through professional development, performance management and curriculum planning.
  • Maintaining high standards of teaching, assessment and reporting, while encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.

The Head of Learning Area will also contribute to College-wide initiatives, participate in Curriculum Team meetings and lead Learning Area contributions to strategic and operational plans.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Be actively involved in a local Protestant Christian church and demonstrate an exemplary Christian lifestyle.
  • Hold a Teacher's Registration Board registration.
  • Hold or obtain a Working with Children Check.
  • Hold or obtain a Department of Education Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check that is no more than three months old.
