Senior Medical Officer - Anaesthetics

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Officer to join our team in Anaesthetics. As a key member of the department, you will provide clinical anaesthetic services meeting the requirements of the Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists Training Program.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated clinical and technical expertise, interpersonal skills, and ability to work with and lead other staff. They will also possess high-level oral and written communication skills and commitment to principles of quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical governance.

Responsibilities:
  • Providing high-quality clinical care to patients at Ipswich Hospital and meeting ANZCA Provisional Fellowship training program requirements
  • Attending tutorials, participating in Quality Assurance meetings, and on-the-job training to meet ANZCA requirements
  • Acting as a role model for junior medical officers through provision of prevocational educational programs
  • Delivering and administering the anaesthetic registrar roster
  • Maintaining a safe workplace that values the health and safety of co-workers, clients, and visitors
  • Contributing to developing and maintaining a culture of risk awareness
  • Participating in Health Service 1:1 conversation process
