Graduate Teacher Opportunity

As a graduate teacher, you will have the opportunity to develop your teaching skills and contribute to the education of students in Melbourne.

This is an exciting chance for recent graduates to plan, implement and assess teaching programs, as well as monitor and report student progress.

You will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, delivering effective instruction and maintaining accurate records of student attendance and progress.

The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team and have access to professional development opportunities to support their growth in the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and implement educational programs or courses of study that cater to diverse student needs
  • Deliver instruction to students in a specific area of the curriculum or general curriculum at a year level
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on student progress in key learning areas
  • Develop strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress
  • Implement effective classroom management practices consistent with school values
Selection Criteria
  1. Demonstrated knowledge of relevant curriculum standards and ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills
  2. Ability to respond to student learning needs and create inclusive learning environments
  3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  4. Behaviours and attitudes consistent with department values
Requirements
  • Have completed course requirements and graduated within the last 4 years
  • Not currently employed as a teacher by the department at the time of advertised position commencement
  • Be registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
