As a key member of the Australian Defence Force, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of our military helicopters.

The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain, diagnose, and repair military helicopter systems and components. You will work closely with a team of skilled technicians to ensure that aircraft are airworthy and ready for deployment at all times.

Key duties include:

  • Maintaining anti-submarine systems
  • Diagnostics and repairs to aircraft weapons and armament
  • Flight director system maintenance
  • Navigational system checks and repairs
  • Air weapon system maintenance
  • Flight instrument checks and calibration
  • Ground support equipment maintenance
  • Radar, sonar, and doppler system checks and repairs
  • Automatic flight control system maintenance
  • Communication system checks and repairs
  • Environmental system maintenance
  • Aviation safety and survival equipment checks and maintenance

In addition to technical skills, as a sailor in the ADF, you will be required to perform additional duties and learn new skills to become highly trained and efficient in supporting the whole ship. This may include ship security, firefighting, boarding party, flood repair, line handling, first aid, flight deck duties, replenishment at sea, medical emergency team membership, ammunitioning or ceremonial duties.
