Role Overview
As a Habit Coach, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals of all ages in their journey towards greater independence. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support to NDIS participants in various community settings.
  • Conducting sessions at participants' homes or in local community spaces, necessitating travel between locations.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, and other specialists, to implement individualized therapy plans.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary duty will be to execute the therapy strategies developed by the lead therapist. Each session will be tailored to meet the unique goals of the participant. Examples of potential focus areas include:
  • Fostering Independence: Helping a teenager learn to navigate public transport for school commutes.
  • Encouraging Healthy Lifestyles: Assisting an adult in grocery shopping and meal preparation to promote nutritious eating habits.
  • Facilitating Social Interaction: Supporting a young child in their after-school routine to enhance social play and interaction skills.
Qualifications for Success
To be considered for the Habit Coach position, candidates should:
  • Be pursuing a university degree in Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, or Physiotherapy (minimum 2nd year).
OR
  • Hold a Certificate 3 or 4 in Allied Health Assistance or a similar qualification, with relevant experience in roles such as Allied Health Assistant or disability support worker.
Additional Requirements
  • Availability to work consistently, with a minimum commitment of two days per week, particularly during afternoon hours.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations as needed.
  • Strong ability to follow directives and maintain focus on participant goals.
  • Exhibit emotional intelligence and empathy in all interactions.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and adherence to company protocols.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Show a genuine passion for making a positive impact in the disability sector.
  • Hold a valid Australian driver's license and have access to a vehicle.
  • Pass necessary background checks, including NDIS Workers Screening and Working with Children Check.
