Job OverviewThe Career Medical Officer position involves experience in labour ward management and gynaecology operating. Provide effective medical services to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment in inpatients and outpatient areas.
Opportunities for training and development are available including access to consultants on the floor, regular morbidity and mortality meetings, and an active training program for all Medical Officers.
Work in a state-of-the-art facility, Gosford Hospital, which is the principal referral hospital and trauma centre for the Central Coast. This hospital provides 24/7 access to emergency departments and operating theatres, and has recently undergone redevelopment.
Alternatively, work at Wyong Hospital, an acute major metropolitan hospital with over 300 beds providing inpatient, outpatient and emergency services to residents in the northern region of the Central Coast. This hospital has also undergone significant redevelopment with the addition of new facilities, including a paediatric unit, inpatient wards, theatres and expanded medical imaging services.
In conjunction with the University of Newcastle, NSW Health has opened the Central Coast Clinical School and Research Institute on the Gosford Hospital campus, providing opportunities in training and research.
Key Responsibilities- Provide effective medical services to patients under supervision.
- Develop expertise in medical practice in a complex clinical environment.
- Work independently within a supervised environment, utilising excellent clinical skills and judgment.
- Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management initiatives.
- Demonstrate time management, problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills.
