Electrical Engineering Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineering student to join our team as an assistant. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and be able to apply them in a real-world setting.

\

The role will involve providing foundational support in the management and maintenance of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and Electrical assets. This will include assisting with asset data management, supporting maintenance activities, and contributing to project delivery and commissioning of new ITS&E assets.

\

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment. They will also have a strong ability to learn and adapt quickly, with a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with asset data management, including data entry and record-keeping\
  • Support maintenance activities, including routine checks and repairs\
  • Contribute to project delivery and commissioning of new ITS&E assets\
  • Provide technical support on electrical engineering aspects of ITS, traffic signals, road lighting, and related electrical applications\
  • Assist in investigating and analysing engineering designs and projects, applying relevant legislation, standards, and electrical engineering principles\
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders by preparing technical reports, responding to public enquiries, and providing clear written and verbal advice\
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary project teams involved in the delivery of ITS infrastructure\
  • Assist in applying asset management strategies, including maintenance and refurbishment planning, for ITS&E infrastructure and services\
  • Perform other tasks as required by the Principal Engineer (ITS&E)\
  • Qualifications:\

    • Candidates will be required to be currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering or dual-degree equivalence\
    • This role is ideally suited to a student studying electrical engineering; however, a current undergraduate in a related field may be considered if applicable\
