Overview
We are working with a very busy public sector department, who have the opportunity to take on a current University undergraduate as part of their development program.
This will be available to a person studying electrical engineering preferably.
The role will be based on the Gold Coast and site work will also be required from time to time.
The role will be part-time 2-3 days per week during semesters and full-time during Uni holidays.

This role reports to a Principal Engineer (ITS&E).
Responsibilities
In the role of Student Engineer (Electrical) you will provide foundational support in the management and maintenance of Intelligent Transport Systems and Electrical (ITS&E) assets.
Key duties include assisting with asset data management, supporting maintenance activities and contributing to project delivery and commissioning of new ITS&E assets.
Provide technical support on electrical engineering aspects of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), traffic signals, road lighting, and related electrical applications.
Assist in investigating and analysing engineering designs and projects, applying relevant legislation, standards, and electrical engineering principles.
Contribute to the planning and design of ITS, electrical, and special infrastructure projects to support delivery within scope, time, cost, and quality expectations.
Support the preparation of electrical and communications system designs for ITS and related applications.
Participate in multi-disciplinary project teams involved in the delivery of ITS infrastructure.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders by preparing technical reports, responding to public and ministerial enquiries and providing clear written and verbal advice.
Assist in applying asset management strategies, including maintenance and refurbishment planning, for ITS&E infrastructure and services.
Qualifications
Candidates will be required to be currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering or dual-degree equivalence.
This role is ideally suited to a student studying electrical engineering; however, a current undergraduate in a related field may be considered if applicable.
