The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our team in Brisbane. As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing, designing, constructing, and remediating tailings structures at all stages of the project.
  • Undertaking desk-based studies utilizing data and information from various sources.
  • Conducting due diligence reviews.
  • Developing scoping and pre-feasibility studies.
  • Designing and supervising waste facilities.
  • Managing projects and coordinating with stakeholders.
  • Preparing reports and proposals.
  • Mentoring a team of engineers as required.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
  • Previous experience in the design, build, and maintenance of Tailings Storage Facilities, with experience as Engineer of Record on large projects.
  • Strong report and proposal writing skills, with excellent written communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to work well with clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously, delivering design services on time and budget.
  • Strong technical ability in tailings management, geotechnics, heap leaching, and water management.
  • Ability to review reports and analyses, and conduct audits.
  • Ability to manage people, technical teams, and mentor engineering staff.
  • Demonstrated leadership and business development experience.
