Job Title: Produce Department Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Produce Department Manager to oversee the daily operations of our produce department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality products, excellent customer service, and a vibrant shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Department Management: Oversee all aspects of the produce department, including merchandising, inventory control, and staff management.
- Product Quality: Ensure all produce is fresh, well-presented, and meets the quality standards of the supermarket.
- Inventory Control: Manage stock levels, conduct regular inventory counts, and coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and assisting customers in selecting products.
- Team Leadership: Train, supervise, and motivate produce department staff to achieve departmental goals and maintain high service standards.
- Sales Performance: Monitor sales trends and develop strategies to maximize sales and profitability in the produce department.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies regarding food handling and cleanliness.
- Seasonal Promotions: Plan and implement seasonal promotions and displays to enhance the shopping experience and drive sales.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in produce management or a related role in a retail environment.
- Strong knowledge of fruits and vegetables, including seasonal availability and handling requirements.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and point-of-sale (POS) technology.
