Job Description
The Mental Health Service Group is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Clinician to join our dynamic Acute Care Team (ACT) working across both community settings and Townsville University Hospital Emergency Department.
As a Mental Health Clinician, you will provide triage, assessment, and evidence-based treatment within a multidisciplinary team. You will collaborate with emergency department staff to develop clinical pathways for patients needing psychiatric care. Your duties will also include delivering mobile crisis response, consultation liaison, and case management.
Key responsibilities include upholding the Recovery Model and ensuring culturally responsive care for consumers and carers. Additionally, you will maintain clinical supervision for yourself and support others in their professional development.
Required Skills and QualificationsWe are looking for a clinician with strong clinical knowledge and a commitment to individualized, patient-centred care. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments and values team collaboration. A professional who prioritizes safety, cultural awareness, and legislative compliance is highly sought after.
A four-year degree in Psychology (Honours or Graduate Diploma) from an accredited tertiary institution is required. Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) is also essential. A current 'C' class motor vehicle licence is necessary for this role.
BenefitsThis permanent full-time or part-time position offers a pro rata remuneration package based on full-time of up to $132,567 p.a., comprising:
Base salary range of $79,051 - $116,189 p.a. (full-time) or $58.59 p.h. (part-time)
Recreational leave loading (17.5%)
Employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%))
Additional benefits include on-call and shift allowances (if applicable), as well as opportunities for professional growth and development through capability building and higher duties.
