EPEC Group is seeking a highly skilled Principal Power Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will drive technical excellence across a range of power system studies using tools like PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory, and Hypersim.

You will bring your expertise in end-to-end grid connection processes, guiding the technical delivery of complex studies and ensuring seamless integration with the grid.

Your experience with generator performance standards and a deep understanding of Schedule 5 of the NER will be key to your success.

As a leader, you will build strong relationships – whether collaborating with network service providers, AEMO, or mentoring junior engineers.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Lead innovative design and engineering solutions.
  • Oversee project controls and subcontractor management.
  • Conduct site inspections and deliver cost-effective outcomes.
Requirements:
  • A degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics.
  • Senior-Principal level experience delivering complex, high-voltage grid connection projects – ideally across design, build, and commissioning phases.
  • A strong focus on health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ), with a knack for inspiring teams and driving great results – both commercially and for clients.
  • Great people skills – you know how to build strong relationships, communicate clearly, and work with customers and senior stakeholders to find the best way forward.
  • Chartered status with Engineers Australia and RPEQ registration (or you're actively working towards it and keen to get there).
