Your Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of mobile equipment, buildings and installations as directed
  • Provide timely failure reports as required
  • Liaise with welding inspectors and design engineers to carry out weld procedures according to engineers' drawings and welding inspectors' requirements
  • Perform fabrication and repairs as directed on all mobile plant and equipment
  • Carry out welding and fabrication repairs according to manufacturers' recommendations
  • Offer technical engineering advice to reduce systemic failures and repetitive repairs
  • Report any equipment breakdowns and damage immediately
  • Manage fire risks from engineering activities
  • Ensure machinery and equipment is isolated before undertaking welding repairs
  • Obtain necessary permits before starting hot works outside designated areas
  • Submit completed documentation to supervisor for record keeping
  • Assist in identifying maintenance opportunities for improvement
  • Liaise with supervision to ensure vehicle inspections and major repairs are planned and scheduled
  • Undertake tasks as directed within scope of trade
  • Travel to other operations to undertake repairs as requested
Your Qualifications & Skills
  • You must be physically fit and strong enough to perform engineering duties
  • A self-starter with a positive attitude and reliable work ethic
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Current driver's license and own vehicle
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with various stakeholders
  • Able to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolution
  • Flexible and adaptable with ability to work in demanding environments
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work well within small teams
