Electrical Power Systems Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Power Systems Engineer to contribute to our mission of developing reliable, flexible and decarbonised electricity systems for Australia.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in power systems engineering with expertise in modelling, analysis and operational support. They will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to advance net zero emissions research and apply advanced optimisation, simulation and analytical techniques to real-world challenges in energy network modelling and control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting in-depth analysis and modelling studies of current and next-generation electricity generation, transmission and distribution systems.
  • Developing innovative solutions to complex problems associated with renewable energy integration.
  • Applying specialist expertise to deliver high-impact results within the discipline or across diverse projects.

The ideal candidate will possess relevant tertiary qualifications, industry experience and a proven track record in power systems engineering.

Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related fields with a focus on power systems engineering.
  • Demonstrated industry experience in electrical generation/distribution/transmission system modelling, planning, optimisation or control.
  • Strong expertise in power systems modelling tools and programming/analysis tools.
