Section Waiter Position Overview

This is a Section Waiter role in an upscale dining establishment, where you will deliver exceptional guest experiences.

The ideal candidate will have experience in fine dining or a high-end restaurant setting and possess excellent communication skills. They will be knowledgeable about food, wine, and fine dining etiquette.

Responsibilities will include attending to guests' service needs, anticipating their preferences, and providing personalized service while maintaining a refined and professional demeanor. The Section Waiter will also be responsible for being knowledgeable of menu items and recommending combinations and upselling when appropriate.

In addition to these responsibilities, the Section Waiter will assist other colleagues to ensure proper coverage and prompt guest service. They will maintain strong working relationships with other departments to ensure effective communications for operational issues.

The Section Waiter will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness of work areas and practicing clean-as-you-go procedures. They will set tables according to event type and service standards, including linens, glassware, chinaware, and flatware; ensuring supplies meet quality standards.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in fine dining or a high-end restaurant setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledgeable about food, wine, and fine dining etiquette.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Valid working rights in Australia.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
