Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced privacy professional to join our team in Perth. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and promoting a culture of privacy across the organization.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual who is passionate about privacy and has excellent communication skills. As a Privacy Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing and responding to internal and external privacy-related inquiries and requests efficiently and accurately.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Participate in our vendor privacy risk management program and streamline processes to improve effectiveness.
  • Complete and review Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) to identify privacy risks, provide recommendations, and support remediation actions.
  • Assist with operational aspects of privacy and AI compliance programs, including inquiries, risk assessments, and governance implementation.
  • Maintain the Record of Processing Activities (RoPA), information asset registry, and data inventories and analyze data flows.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to embed Privacy by Design and implement privacy-enhancing and data protection features across projects.
  • Distill complex privacy and data issues into clear, actionable guidance (e.g., on data collection, consent, and compliance record keeping).
Requirements:
  • Two plus years of experience in privacy, security compliance, or risk management.
  • Knowledge of global privacy regulations (CCPA, PIPEDA, US State privacy legislation, GDPR, CAN-SPAM, Australian Privacy Act).
  • Ability to research independently and quickly gain familiarity with privacy laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and managing projects.
  • Superb organizational skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in distributed teams across multiple time zones.
  • Attitude that no project is too big or too small.
  • Comfortable working in an extremely fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Experience working with OneTrust or a risk intelligence product (desirable).
