Primary Learning Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary Learning Support Specialist to join our team.

The successful applicant will play a vital role in creating an inclusive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of students. As a key member of our support team, you will provide individualized interventions and guidance to students under the supervision of the Head of Student Learning and Support.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Act as a primary liaison between teachers and students, providing targeted support to identify and address areas of need.
  2. Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement effective learning strategies and activities that cater to the needs of students with marginal skills.
  3. Support the development of curriculum and resources that meet the unique needs of students.
  4. Provide targeted interventions to enhance literacy and numeracy skills in students.
  5. Ensure compliance with school policies and child safety regulations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in learning support (desirable).
  • Experience in special education, particularly with students with disabilities, in an educational setting (OR) experience working with students in a learning support or teaching assistant role.
  • Participation in relevant professional networks associated with the role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in communication, interpersonal skills, commitment to child safety, and technical organizational skills.
Selection Criteria:
  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ is an inherent requirement of the role, along with active church attendance and willingness to support the college's vision.
  • Knowledge of and deep commitment to child safety within an educational context.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
