Assistant Category Manager

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Category Manager to join our Commercial team at Coles Group. In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Category Manager Seafood to develop and execute innovative strategies for the seafood category.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement category strategies to drive profitable sales growth and improve customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate and manage category ranges, pricing, and promotions.
- Manage and analyze category data to inform business decisions and optimize category performance.
- Lead trade planning and range reviews to ensure category alignment with business objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including category managers, buyers, and merchandising teams.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in category management or a related field, preferably in the retail or FMCG industry.
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills to interpret industry dynamics and competitive retail landscapes.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
