Job Title

Culture and Economy Specialist - Term Contract Opportunity until 2026

The City is undergoing rapid transformation, becoming Sydney's Central City. Growth and investment in the City means that Council and its partners have a unique opportunity to shape the City's future and ensure it is sustainable.

We are seeking a Culture and Economy Specialist to join our team, working strategically across Council and with external stakeholders to deliver programs and projects, with a focus on night-time economy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders on strategic projects and programs
  • Conduct research into place-making, safety and vibrancy initiatives
  • Proactively support the arts, culture, live music and entertainment capacity of the City
  • Collaborate on marketing and communication initiatives

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Tertiary qualification related to planning, business innovation, project management and/or other relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in developing strategic documents and policies
  • Proven ability to identify key issues and opportunities, with a track record of resolving complex challenges through innovation and collaboration
  • Demonstrated experience in leading projects, managing budgets and contracts, and delivering outcomes within tight deadlines and competing priorities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and build strong relationships across diverse audiences
