About This Role

A Payroll Specialist is required to join our team to manage the entire payroll process from start to finish. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process new starter documentation in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Submit weekly and fortnightly timesheets, verifying that employees have correctly completed entries.
  • Manage payroll files within set deadlines, maintaining confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records in our timesheet system and ADP, adhering to data protection policies.
  • Calculate and process termination/redundancy payments, salary increases, and other personnel-related transactions.
  • Liaise with employees, management, and external auditors as necessary, providing clear explanations and resolving queries promptly.
  • Reconcile and settle payroll tax liabilities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Verify all deductions are accurately processed in ADP (child support, union fees, garnishees, etc.).
  • Perform year-end reconciliations on Payroll Tax, Superannuation, PAYG, and LSL, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and submit required reports both internally and statutorily, meeting established deadlines.
  • Evaluate and implement Enterprise Agreement conditions correctly, leveraging system capabilities to optimize payroll operations.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably with 4-5 years of exposure to payroll management.
  • A proven track record of identifying and implementing quality improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
