Senior Underwriter Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Underwriter to join our team in a dynamic and challenging environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your underwriting expertise by working with multiple product areas and managing medium to complex risks.

The successful candidate will have genuine autonomy in underwriting while benefiting from the support of an experienced team. The role requires technical underwriting excellence, relationship building, and regular interactions with brokers and clients across the Southern Region.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist in the growth and maintenance of profitable business within allocated regions
  2. Undertake personal underwriting of schemes and policies, including new business
  3. Deliver professional customer service to brokers, distribution partners, and internal colleagues
  4. Support the Commercial Team Leader, Regional Manager, and wider Underwriting and Distribution team in maximizing portfolio profitability
  5. Contribute to risk and compliance management practices within the allocated portfolio
  6. Develop a workplace learning environment
Requirements
  • Multi-line property and casualty experience or the willingness to develop it
  • Broker relationship skills with a focus on building genuine connections
  • Commercial lines expertise with at least 5 years of underwriting and business development experience
  • ANZIIF Associate qualification (completed or in progress) or relevant tertiary qualifications
