Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Litigation Specialist to join our team in a key role supporting the Court of Appeal. The successful candidate will work closely with judicial officers and their chambers to actively manage civil appellate cases, communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively manage civil appellate cases, ensuring timely progression and efficient case management.
  • Analyse and synthesise complex case material, providing recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Draft high-quality correspondence, legal memoranda, and factual summaries to facilitate effective communication.
  • Develop and implement strategies for case listing and expedition, working collaboratively with court staff and judicial officers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Tertiary qualification in law and admitted to practice, with post-admission experience in corporations law, commercial litigation, personal injury, insolvency, or administrative law highly desirable.
Benefits

This is a part-time (3 days per week) fixed-term position until March 2027. The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced civil lawyer in a job share arrangement, 3 days a week (preferred working days of Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday) with the possibility of additional days offered during peak periods.
