Senior Counsellor

About this Role:

  • This role focuses on delivering expert counselling services to clients, prioritising empathy and understanding in a collaborative environment.
  • The ideal candidate will be part of the Supporting Recovery Program, catering to individuals affected by family, domestic, and sexual violence.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality client-centred counselling and provide guidance within your team.
  • You will work closely with clients in Lake Macquarie, Newcastle & Port Stephens areas.

Your Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in human services (e.g. Psychology, Counselling) with a minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Clinical membership of a relevant professional body.
  • Experience in trauma-informed practices is essential.
  • Demonstrated expertise in counselling, group work, leadership, and working with diverse stakeholders.
  • A deep understanding of BaptistCare's values and commitment to inclusive practice.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to relate to various communities.
  • A current Working with Children Check and willingness to undergo a Police Check.
  • A valid Driver's Licence.
