About The Role
The purpose of this very rewarding role is to provide counselling, support and specialist group programmes to individuals, couples, children, and families through collaborative practices that are:
Trauma informed
Evidence Based
Psycho-educational
This role will be part of the Supporting Recovery Program funded by PHN. The program aims to provide trauma-informed recovery care for victim-survivors of family, domestic and sexual violence.
You are a subject matter expert and will provide quality client-centered counselling and supervision with some leadership in your team and stream that meets the needs of our employees, clients and families and is consistent with BaptistCare's Purpose and Values.
About You
You will be an experienced Senior Counsellor who has a genuine passion for working within the community. The successful applicant will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in relevant human services (e.g. Psychology, Counselling) with a minimum 3 years experience
Clinical Membership of relevant professional body (e.g. PACFA or ACA)
Experience in trauma informed practice
Demonstrated experience & skills in counselling and group work
Demonstrated experience in leadership
Experience in the Domestic and Family Violence sector
Demonstrated experience & skills in counselling and group work within an agency setting
Demonstrated experience relating to diverse stakeholders, e.g. Government departments & other non-government organisations
Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of BaptistCare's Christian identity and promote the organisation's values through interactions at work
Demonstrated understanding of inclusive, respectful practice when working with First Nations, culturally and linguistically diverse, LGBTIA+ and people with disabilities
Excellent written & oral communication skills
Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
Willing to undergo a Police Check
Current Drivers' License
Desirable
Demonstrated experience & skills in individual and group settings with those experiencing Domestic Violence
Post graduate qualifications in a speciality area e.g. Play Therapy, child counselling
